To commence analysis of any reported failure, the Image Bank (IB) is connected to a digital back and camera body to perform test shots. If any failure is confirmed, the IB is dismantled and inspected to determine the cause of such failure - visually and according to the error description.
If the error is traced to the printed circuit board (PCB), by electronic testing, the PCB is removed and replaced. Due to the complexity of the electronics, we regret that it is not possible to repair the PCB.
The IB is then connected to a computer and a special test program run to monitor the SD RAM, time and date, fan and temperature, as well as checks to the FireWire and battery connections. A backup of the calibration files are then transferred to the IB followed by tethered and untethered testing procedures and, finally, the flash sync is checked.
If the IB fails any of these tests, the fault is corrected and the test procedures repeated.
After passing all tests, the IB is ready to be returned.
Please note: If any valuable images are stored on the IB, please draw our attention to this and, where possible, a backup of these images will be made. For this purpose, please supply a portable FireWire hard disk along with the IB at the time of repair.
